Insight mrds????

Just got an angle on one of these. I had a Millett Zoom Dot which I did fancy to some extent but it was a bit too bulky for me... I feel the same about most of the RDs out there... There is the T-1(expensive) and Eotech has a mini holo sight...trijicon has some offerings as well as others but I have been on the fence as to which direction to go... Itac defense has a SIG red do that is about 150.00 but its specs are slim which leads me to distrust its longevity....
I have been looking for something a bit more "high speed-low drag" but with the same durability as the more expensive Aimpoint sights...
I can appreciate the MRDS for its durability although battery life does not compare with the aimpoint... I dont leave my gear on for extended lengths of time so I think a 1 year constant on is good enough... They seemingly tortured it so thats a plus in my book...
I have seen complaints about it mounting too low but thats nothing a small riser mount cant eliminate...
some manufacturer notes:
The MRDS has been waterproofed to 66 feet for 2 hours, frozen in ice, drop tested, subjected to a 48-hour salt fog, tested to withstand vibration, submitted to extreme temperature shock and shot on a variety of firearms for thousands of rounds. It has an operational temperature range of -40o C to 49o C and passes the MIL-STD 810F environmental testing protocols.

Powered by a single 1632 battery that allows the unit to operate up to 1-year in Auto mode, the MRDS weighs just 0.85 ounces including battery. The top-load battery compartment design means no loss of zero when changing the battery. Like all Insight Tech-Gear products, the MRDS is covered by a Limited Lifetime Warranty.

If it works about as good as it sounds, it could be viable option. But it's not cheap either by any standards.
True...
But, I can get it for around 370.00 and possibly cheaper here real soon....
The Itac/ Sig red dot thta is similar to the T-1 can be had for 150.00 ....

The T-1 runs around 550.00, weighhs 3.7 oz with the mount and is 2.4" in length... ruggedness and longevity are there.

The Comp M4S is around 650.00 and is IMO the flagship of RDS...I would love to run one but cant justify the cost, especially when coupled with the 3x magnifier... However, they are bulkier and offer more drag than I wish to deal with in a 1x ..... it is 4.7" and weighs 11 oz with the integrated mount.... eek.... I might as well use a viable power scope....

The Insight MRDS is 1.9" and weighs .85 oz  ...it boasts the same rigidity and longevity as as the aimpoint and more than others of its kind...

decisions decisions decisions
