Howdy -

I have a 556 sbr, 10.5", carbine gas, w/ a 556 spec war can. I have an adjustable gas block, too. I noticed gas in my face at times. Aside from adjusting the gas, I bought a Raptor charge handle designed to dissipate the gas. It doesn't always work.

What are some next steps to stop this issue? One time it felt like the doctor was blowing air directly into my eye. Good thing is that I wear glasses anyways.

I did a couple of mine this way. I put Vaseline on the rounded part of the receiver. Didn't have to pry the silicone off the receiver that way.

The charging handle mod works. My favorite solution, which is also pricey, is the Geissele Super Charging Handle! I also have the Raptor SD one which works fine for my guns. My preference is the Geissele SCH. There are a handful, at least, of companies that make similar solutions with a lip on the CH to mitigate gas-to-the-face. I've used some and haven't found any that don't work at all.
