Beware, the new 100 CX with the heat resistant tip has degraded expansion compared to the 100 GMX it replaced. The bullet is basically acts like an FMJ approaching 200 yards and less than 150 yards if you have a shorter barrel. Clipping the tips off restores performance.

Ya I was reading the other day. Apparently that's junk.

I notice when searching, there's plenty of availability for this round, and the 120SST is gone. Not good... Why would Hornady do that?
Maybe everyone is buying up the SST because they read @Xman 's posts?

I definitely think this^^^

Was looking through Midways reviews and saw a review with the same info as posted on here and the same pics. Can only assume it was @Xman (aka Slim from N. TX). If not, someone is plagiarizing his work!!

I laughed to myself when I read it. Great to have fantastic resources here. Thanks again to everyone!!

Bought some from Target Sports to finally shoot my dang 6.8 and was thinking maybe use it for hunting here in CA but seems a little slow at 2550fps?
After reading that bullet restore performance thread, I’ll be clipping and filing and considering them good to go.
CBB ammo is cheaper, faster and performs better. Its also CA fish and game registered. As well as in stock.

Dang I didn’t know CBB sold ammo! Thought it was mainly projectiles though admittedly that’s all I looked at on the site. Wish I would have found that out prior to ordering the Hornady. Will have to order from CBB later still.
