First off, got to visit "Americana Arms" in Beeville, TX for the first time today!
😉👍 I like the place. Staff ask if you need help, if not, they let you wander and look.
Kid bought a 550 count box of Win .22LR. Forty something bucks.

I found a 50 count box of Hornady .277 100 grain GMX bulletsfor $35. They had several boxes, but I just grabbed one.
I get 'em home and look 'em up online!
HORNADY HAS DISCONTINUED THEM! WHA.....?

The store also has a great selection of powder and primers. Yeah....they still ain't cheap! A "brick" (1,000 primers) of small rifle primers was $106!
Last brick of primers I bought was $10! 🤯!

If I were you I would trot my happiness on back tomorrow and snap up as many of those 100 gr CMX boxes as your credit card will allow. Just sayin'.

earlytom is right! Hornady replaced the GMX with their new CX bullet. The GMX has been one of the better 6.8mm bullets for the SPC. Hornady stuffed their new "heat resistant" ballistic tip in the CX which is a harder plastic than used in the GMX. This has caused a significant degradation in the CX's expansion capability in the mid- to low-velocity regime.

100 GMX min velocity is around 1600 fps
100 CX min velocity is 2200 fps

Thus, the 100 CX lost 500 lb-ft of capability resulting in CX performing similar to an FMJ beyond ranges from 100 to 150 yards depending on barrel length. The GMX will expand at ranges beyond 300+ yards.

So yes, earlytom provided sound advice to grab more 100 GMXs if you can. If you're looking for another good copper bullet that is in-stock, consider the MKZ at CavityBackBullets.

Yeppers! Good idea! Except it's 108 miles away and it's off the beaten path.
....and to go back without another reason besides just more bullets just ain't gonna happen.
