Howdy all,

Just joined up to do more research on 6.8. I've been thinking about building a non-5.56 rifle for a while, and the 6.8 is leading the pack right now.

Looking at the Stag with the 1/11 barrel, and soon to be released Titan XTreme. Hoping to learn more about both.

I think that Titan extreme is going to be awesome. If you go with anything else steer towards the SPEC II chamber and 11:1 twist. Lots of good info here! Good luck and post pictures of your build when you're done. :mrgreen:

Welcome Redbeard. Both choices are excellent. Legal Transfer's group buy for the Stag Model 5 rifle kits on ARFCOM is a great price considering how much AR's have gone up the last month or so. So I'd say it's a great value for the money, especially with the new 1:11 barrels that are showing up now.

The Xtreme upper carries the same base price but is the upper only. It's a 4150 chrome lined barrel, DMR type chamber, and the guys have contracted with the barrel manufacturer for match type tolerances. We are getting a price break on that upper, so if you're looking for a match grade combat style upper then the Xtreme is a must buy.

Seriously though, both are the next generation and steps forward in 6.8 development. With more and more properly spec'd slower twist 1:11's on the market, the ammo makers can make ammo for these barrels capabilities.
