Hello all. Been a long time lurker.

Question. What is a good effective range for whitetail deer. I bought a .308 to hunt with. but, its just too heavy. I am in the process of building a SBR ( paperwork is taking forever ). I could just add a hunting upper.

Welcome aboard. You can take deer out to 300 yards with no problem. The Sierra 110 Gr. Pro-Hunters and the Nosler 110 Gr. Accubonds will work.

Welcome aboard, as Paulo stated the pro hunter and the accubond from SSA tac loads carry 1K worth of energy out to 300-400 yards depending on your velocity for the barrel ect ect....

Thanks for the replies. All i really need is good terminal balistics to about 200 yds. I'll find a 18 inch today to order.
