Is the firearm market starting to catch up yet? I've been seeing more Ar's and stuff show up and sit longer. Hows it in your areas?
An FFL friend said something similar. We didn't talk about reloading gear, but he said more overpriced AR's and magazines are staying with the seller at gun shows. There's still an increased demand, but not the panic surge we had after the election.jamesb74 said:primers and powders and bullets are still scarce. Some stuff does seem that it is catching up. True there is still alot of price gouging still going on.
I've been to both the Fort Worth and Mesquite gun shows not that long ago, and the prices were high as compared to online, that I don't believe I will be attending another gun show in quite a while.ArtFWTx said:An FFL friend said something similar. The best deals I've seen are still with our vendors and on the EE on ARFCOM. While one local gun store Cheaper Than Dirt was reported by another member as having a 6.8 RRA rifle for $1900, PK Firearms, and Legal Transfers had them listed new in the box at $920-1020 depending on options on AR15.com. So there is a huge gap in prices out there if you shop around and don't buy the first one you run across.
A Stag 5H 6.8 upper was going for $750 at a recent gun show. Then there's the Xtreme 6.8 at $649. Now which one would I buy?
Same thing with AR mags. One store and gun show locally had them for $29.95 for USGI mags, and at the same time you can go online and find them for $12-15.
Oh, CTD who was gouging on the RRA 6.8, also had SSA ammo in stock for regular retail pricing.... go figure.
I've been buying from Powder Valley. Even though the stuff is listed as out of stock, I go ahead and back order. Last month that ran about 3 weeks before I received the 5000 CCI small rifle primers I ordered. They are running behind because of the order volume and sometimes stuff will come in and sell out before they update the site. You just have to call and ask. Plus, they are not gouging on prices. I don't mind the wait, so I just permanently keep stuff on order with them to offset.jamesb74 said:Somebody asked about primers in another thread and to try and be helpful I scanned Wideners,Powder Valley,Graf&sons, and Midway thinking I could find something and nothing was available.
