I did a 3-Gun match (first one) August 1st and it was a blast. At the shoot I went to, you don't have to be a member of IDPA to shoot, just have a rifle, shotgun, pistol, and this place required a pistol caliber carbine. Not all matches require a PCC. It's fun, and most of the courses require shooting from cover and awkward positions. It really depends on how sadistic er creative the guy running the match is.
