That probably got your attention! What I'm talking about are the freebies that you can order when buying Hornady presses and dies. Are the 130gr 270 Cal bullets something that can be used in the 6.8? Or would I be better off picking up the 10mm 180gr and using them for my .40 S&W? Or are any of the other bullets good trade bait for the 6.8's that I would really want?

TIA, A reloading newbie

I forgot what was on the list for selection. I just picked the .45's since I shoot a bunch of them. Someone commented on here or somewhere I was reading that they had called Hornady and asked if they would substitute other calibers. You might try that. When I got my LNL they were running short of most of the bullets and I had to call them a couple of times to see if I was really going to get them. They might swap them out :D

Anyone know where the Lock N Load AP is in stock?
I put my name and email into the Natchez Shooters Supplies website to be notified when it was available. They go pretty quickly when they are in stock. I had to do it twice in order to score one. The first time I got notified it was a few hours after the notification came in that I checked my email ... they were sold out by then. The second time I happened to be on-line when the email came through and I snapped it up.

Actually the 130s are not good for t5he 6.8 what is best to do is call them up and ask for either the 110 HPBT or the Vmax they will charge you a bit for it as the bullets are not the ones and are more costly beacasue of it but itsw still a very very good deal as it will only be pennies per bullets. I strongly suggest the 110 HPBT as they are a great HD comabt round. Accurary as about what you expecgt form Hrdy but these and better than the vmax. They are consdier on the of the best combat rounds and have been throughlty tested for penatration etc..

I talked with Hornady sales about upgrading the free bullets and had no problem in doing so. I paid $4.12 per 100 additional to get the 110Gr HPBT's. Thanks for that idea Tim. She did say it may be a few months wait for them to arrive. Whatever, I'm waiting for everything else. My stash of SSA Prohunters will have to hold me over until these arrive.

+1 for Hornady and this promotion.

I ordered a LNL and a set of Hornady dies in Mid Feb. The dies shipped immediately, and the LNL arrived three weeks ago.

After talking to a CS rep from Hornady I sent in the UPC from the dies the week I received them with an additional $2.25 or something along those lines for a 100 pack of VMaxes with the cannelure. I received the projectiles almost exactly 8 weeks later.

When the LNL came in I couldn't remember the exact amount of cash I needed to add to get the VMax /w cannelures so I called them back and was told that I didnt even need to send the additional money in this time, just cover the shipping like it said on the flyer.

I'm so impressed with Hornady's customer service!

NOT Quite Free

I have ordered two presses over the years and Hornady was more than willing to upgrade the bullets both times.

First time it was just an extra 1.99 for the 10 Boxes of 110gr OTM plus the normal shipping.

Second time I asked just to make sure I could get the same deal and they said no problem.

It appears there was a small glitch, after waiting about 3 months, they sent the whole thing back and said I owed an additional 1.99 "per box."

I said I had no problem but why not just call me and not take me out of the loop knowing how long the wait is.

I did not want to wait another 4-6 months.

I was a little pissed and called Hornady. The passed me to Jason Hornady said no problem just ship it all back, they should have told me and not wasted all of my time.

He said he would eat the mistake and insisted I ship it all back the way they returned it to me.

I said you sure, he said positive and insisted again. I said I will pay the extra. He said sent it back

So I am waiting for an additional 1K 110 Gr OTM for a $1.99 plus shipping twice.

Damn fine people in my book.

I like Dillon as I have a RL 550B but They never did me a deal as good as this

USA
Phone: 1-800-338-3220

I called Hornady and they will (reluctantly) do the switch, but they have none of these bullets in stock, and they are not on the schedule either. So it could be 3 -6 months before I receive them.

They also don't have any of the two .45 options in stock either, but both of those are on the manufacturing schedule.

Awake.

It took me almost a year to get my Free 2K.

Rest assured you will get them eventually, I never received more than 5 boxes at a clip.

But I did get them.
