let me try this with calling the gear by it's real name LOL life has become one senior moment after another

i've had this thing for months, and have a big stash of brass that needs to be cleaned. what mixture/formula do you guys that have them use for cleaning? i've read Dawn here, and i have that, wondering how much. this will be a pre sizing tumble without the stainless pins, just to get the crud off them. any help appreciated

I use a squirt of dawn and that is good enough for me.
thanks guys, dawn is good for me too, the amount was what i needed, i now have a starting point. appreciate it
Why the pre tumble? De-prime and go for the real thing.

i don't like to size dirty brass, this is a batch of mixed stamp range brass in 7.62x39 and it's dirty, very dirty. i'd spend more time cleaning the presses and dies after sizing this stuff dirty. it's deprimed and ready to go into the drum this morning. so yeah, i'll end up running it twice before i start pulling the lever LOL just a personal thing with me i reckon
I read somewhere here, and tried on my last batch, to use car wash/wax soap and lemishine. Theoretically the light coat of wax is supposed to help prevent tarnishing later. Debatable. I did two batches with it, one that I just drained and air dried, the other that I drained, rolled in a towel, then air dried. The toweled brass was gorgeous but the first had some water spots.
just finished my first run with this rotary tumbler. ran a shade over 500 pieces of 7.62x39 range brass, it was really dirty and nasty. water was filthy when i drained it, rinsed in hot tap water and now in my pepper dehumidifier. i'm impressed, i'll get them sized then run them with the stainless pins
1 tablespoon Dawn
1/4 teaspoon Lemishine
3/4 full water in tumbler jug
Too much Lemishine will turn the brass orange-brown.
I have done 300 5.56 brass with this recipie and they have
come out looking like new brass.

I just run my brass through the Lee universal decapping and depriming die and tumble with the pins.

This! Universal decap, then tumble. Does a great job cleaning primer pockets. Lube and resize after this stage.
