i've ordered a stag 5h upper in early to mid november, finally got it a week or two ago.... it did come in as the 1-11 twist which is a plus. but when i cycle the charging handle a few times the forward assist button comes/falls out. is it the roll pin installed wrong? is there a missing button stop? it funtions fine but it would fall out with the charging handle cycling. i dont have funds for a sight/optics yet so all i can do is break it in with the cycling.

call Stag and let them know what is wrong and they will fix it asap. that is defiantly not sapose to happen

Stag has a great warranty. So if they forgot a part, they'll take care of it. Here's a link to some Brownell's assembly videos on the upper receiver in case you wanted to watch the short clips and see if you can spot what yours is missing. It sounds like the roll pin that's inserted into the receiver to hold the forward bolt assist from backing out is missing?

cool thanks guys...i'll take a look at the video and call stag if i dont figue it out. hopefully it dont have to end that way because i really dont want to wait. especially that there at 20-25 weeks of lead time...

edit...just checked out the vid and it looks like they didnt press the button/plunger in while driving in the roll pin. thanks guys for the input. than again i can be wrong with my assessment.

if you have to send it back it will not be that long to get it back i had a STAG 5.56 that had a bad barrel extension and it blue up i sent the gun to them with in 3 tweaks i had a brand new gun this was right before Christmas. Stag are good people

cool dude, what was the turn around time u think? 2 weeks?,4,5 weeks? i'm just curious becausing i'm gonna judge it by if it is worth it for me to send it back or pay some one to fix it. i've assembled my own lower but the upper is new to me, other than that great bronells videos you guys gave me.... s**t i completely forgot about those vids.
