This is my first buck with my 6.8 spc.Taken along with the doe he was tending on the last day of the regular firearms season. 8pt. 3.5yrs.

Thanks, It's a kotonics upper shooting 110 gr. pro hunters. Leupold 2-7. My buddy shot at this buck on the way in and missed. Then on the way out he wanted to check one more time for blood. So as we looked around I went left he went right. Then as I went over a small hill the buck jumped up along with a doe(the 2nd rut is on here).They stopped for a look back, and I shot the doe first (drt) because of the thick brush then the buck ran and gave me an opening. He went 30yds and dropped. This buck and doe had bedded again less than 40yds from where my friend shot at him.

did you use the whistle trick to stop the buck?

Great story. The buck had more on his mind than a hunter. :D

it's funny to show people how a deer often stops when you whistle, just like "hey, what was that noise" just enough time to drop em
