I have been trying to decide if I wanted to get an LWRC M6A3 or get an ADDAX system (now they come out with a long piston operated upper).

I just got word that an LWRC came in and its time to decide if I want it. So...what do you guys recommend. Which one to get and why? By the way, is $2400 fair for the LWRC?

Thanks!!!!

I'm in the same boat you are in. I have decided that I need/want to get a piston system, but I can't decide which to get. The Addax/PWS uppers are at the top of my list, but I remembered that LWRC has a piston as well.

The PWS piston systems I have been looking at is the 16" mid-length combat upper with the DD 12" fspm LITE rail offered by Addax, and the 18.5" one of the same configuration but with Sabre Defense barrel offered by Rainier Arms.

Anybody have recommendations?

The LWRCI M6A3's come in 5.56 & 6.8 and $2,150 is a fair price for the complete rifle. Try this company http://northwesttactical.us.com/ they're an LWRCI site sponsor and normally have what you want in stock. Oh...I love my LWRCI so...

THanks...Northwest website quoted a M6A3 (6.8SPC) 16" black will run for about $2300 and out of stock.
So I guess $2400 is fair. Now the question is LWRC or Addax.

I know you experts are out there. Chime in please!!!

If in a 6.8, I would go with the 16 inch over the 18.5, just seems sexier to have a piston a shorter barrel

I've got three LWRC 6.8's and love them all. I've got one with the midlength gas system and recoil impulse is smooth. I have no experience with Addax so I cannot say either way. I can say the LWRC is nice. And I would stick with the 16 inch barrel, it's the optimum barrel length for the caliber.

I've been trying to talk anyone and everyone about LWRC. Not sure if it was you, but just wanted to confirm...you said you don't have any carrier tilt problems and didn't show any signs of wear on the lower receiver right? How many rounds have you had through it.

Thanks.

I've got five uppers or rifles from LWRC, two 5.56's and three 6.8's. None of them have carrier tilit. I've several thousand rounds through a 10.3" 5.56 upper I bought over three years ago, over 3000 through a 16" 6.8 that was a saami chambered rifle that has since been re-barreled with the midlength piston and CHF ni-corr barrel, over 2000 through a 14.7" M6A1 5.56, and over 1000 rounds each through a 14.7" M6A1 6.8 and a 6.8 PSD. I have good luck with LWRC's stuff. Like any company they can put out lemons and are not perfect but they have good customer service so if there is an issue they will take care of you. If I could afford it and didn't have one of their .308's on order I would buy an M6A3. I hear Addax makes good stuff too so you have difficult choice to make. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

Thanks RCrandall.

I know...but company seems to make good stuff. Its so hard to choose. Especially since Addax came out with a long piston operated system (now carrier tilt is a not even an issue). Wish I can get both.

I will make it easy for you. ;)

The new Addax ATAC GPU (new long stroke piston system) in 6.8 SPCII with a MUR upper receiver, WOA (Shilen) 1:11 twist 4 groove Stainless Match barrel that will be Cerakoted black.

Current ETA 8-10 weeks.

For the cost of my upper, and a really good lower receiver with a nice stock, you will end up saving a few hundred dollars over the LWRC.

With the extra savings over the LWRC you can pick up more 6.8 ammo.

The ETA is 8-10 even with the MUR? Is the ETA shorter without it or about the same? The ATAC with Vltor MUR sounds very intriguing.

I was wondering...Is it possible to take the entire top half of the handguard off of all the LWRCI rifles so you can easily clean the piston and the barrel? Or does only the top rail come off?

BTW: I am wanting to get it in 5.56. I just saw the thread and forgot we were in the 6.8 discussion forum.

The same.

I am just waiting on my custom barrels from WOA and I also picked some up from Bison/ER Shaw.

I just received a small quantity of MUR uppers that have been modified to work with the new long stroke piston system.

Just the top rail. The piston is easy to take apart from there.

I've had the pleasure of using the ADDAX piston system and was impressed with it, clean and ran great with good ammo.
