Decent Shooting Stand That Fits AR Platform

841 Views 7 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  303 HUNTER
I've been looking for a decent but affordable shooting stand for my 6.8 and other AR's. the Caldwell's are affordable, but always have bolt action rifles in them when advertised. Will an AR fit these? Not talking about the lead sled, just the smaller bench top versions.

The lead sled solo would probably be best compared to the cheaper plastic ones like the Matrix.

I've got the matrix and everyone who uses it, really likes it, myself included

Looked at both, but chose the Solo. I like how the stock mounts, and also like the ability to strap down the hand guard. Had a little extra money from selling some bullets....
Actually seen a lead sled where the owner filled the weight tray with lead. Makes it an armload when he moves it from his vehicle to the bench.

A buddy's got the lead sled with the integrated stand, plus bags of shot. It takes several trips to the truck to move everything. I think the solo will be easier to move since you don't have the stand to assemble.

Not sure if it was clear, he melted lead and filled the tray full so it is a permanent load. May or may not be easier than making multiple trips.

I'll bet that sucker is heavy with lead melted in the tray. I've got a couple ingots to use if I need them.
