There seems to be a lot of frustration with regards to the durability of the black finish on the CP SS mags.

Has anyone tried stripping the paint off and just bead blasting them? To me, that seems like it could be a nice finish. Is that just a dumb idea?

I for one don't care for the shiney black teflon coating on the newer CP mags. Bead blast SS sounds like a good idea and would probably hold paint better. I am limited to 5 rd. mags for hunting here in FL and may just paint the bottom half.

That black finish is how I tell my 6.8 mags from 556 mags as they are grey.

If you bead blasted them, they would look good, I guess, but they would stick out like a sore thumb. I'm not frustrated at all. Never had a problem with mine.
