I am looking to purchase a 6.8 upper to go on my LMT lower. I want to support an good company -- one with good customer support and good products. Any suggestions? I am wanting to get the most accurate barrel to start with and go from there, 16 inch or 18 inch. Thanks in advance.

Personally I have an excellent upper from AR Performance. Harrison and Donna replied to all my questions and order changes without a single sigh. Great quality at a great price. Not to take away from our other sponsors, they are great too. Tim at Titan was one of the first to help me with a problem I had with my first 6.8 upper (Stag Arms). Just look at them and see who has all the components you want.

Same here, gotta put a plug in for ARP. That said, you can search around the board and find plenty of messages/threads from satisfied owners of uppers built by the other site sponsors. You won't go wrong with any of them, IMO.

Agreed, just pick any of the sponsors from this site and you can't go wrong. All of them are very dedicated to the 6.8 so you will definitely get the quality you are looking for in your upper. As for customer service, again just pick your sponsor because they make their living on customer service and can't afford to be anything but top notch.

This is not to say that companies that are not sponsors are bad, it is just these people (our sponsors) are true believers in the 6.8 rather than it being just another product in their line.

Thanks for all your help. Looking at the two of the companies listed brings me to another question. Is there a substantial difference between an 18 inch non-lined barrel and a 16 inch chrome lined with respect to accuracy with the 6.8 cartridge? I am intending to use the rifle for range/hunting -- short distances. I am not looking for something to shoot past 500 yards. Pros and cons of the two barrels would be appreciated.

Wes @ MSTN. Mstn.biz, will meet all your requirements, outstanding quality (one of if not the best in the business), works with only highest end equipment/parts, ALWAYS backs there products (although I have never even heard of an issue) You can't go wrong.

remember quality is costly

If building yourself, don't rule out spikes for the stripped upper. There are loads of good companies on here, go to the Vendor section and take your pick.
