Clothes Washer not working; Flashing H then F, any tips or help?

301 Views 3 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Ed308
I have a Kenmore Elite HE3 clothes washing machine. I had my floors redone and we had to move the machine out of the house. When we brought it back in and hooked it all up and went to try to use it it wouldn't work It is flashing H on it then it will flash F. I don't know what that means or if I can fix this myself. Let me know if you have any suggestions.

Thanks.

did you turn the water back on??

google is your friend:

here is 1 post I found in less than 30 seconds :a26:

Based on the error code "F/H"; there is no water detected entering the washer or the Pressure switch trip is not detected.

There could be several causes of F/H.

Note: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before servicing your washer.

First, if the water will pump out then you can rule out a draining issue. If the fill water enters too slowly or is siphoning out as it's filling, F/H will display. A faulty water inlet valve, flow meter or water level pressure switch could also cause F/H to display.

Sears parts direct has a pretty good DIY trouble shooting function. Just go to DIY Repair Help and plug in the model and serial number and then look at the options. http://www.searspartsdirect.com/ They quite often even have videos showing you how to fix a problem or replace a part if needed.
I've had that same code on my Whirlpool washer. Check the lint screen in the water input lines and make sure their not clogged with lint.
