This time I changed from a YHM-9634 lightweight to a LaRue LT15-9.

Before:

After:

The LaRue has a much smaller diameter for the handguards, it fits my hand better. One down-side is the larger mounting ring prevents me from putting the Aimpoint across both the flat-top and the forend. I know I wasn't supposed to, but it was how I got enough space for my magnifier. Looking at the pics on LaRue's web-page I see that they make a mount that puts the optic where I used to have it without bridging the two rails.

Trying new rails has been an on-going thing for me...

I have also tried the YHM smoothie wrapped in parachute cord:

On those good rails, I have no problem mounting the optic forward...

Looks great! I like the Larue rails (I have 12" on my 18" SPR), I know he catches allot of grief but I still like his product.

I have been going back and forth on either using a 9" rail or 10" rail on my middy. If I went 9 it would like very similar to yours, if 10 then I would use a low pro gas block.

I went 9 because of my gas-block. I dearly love the YHM folding fronts.

Not least of the reasons why is the bayonet lug. That's been a mandatory item for me since the expiration.
