These are just about the only primer I use on the regular, and I've used a bunch of them, and the only reason is because I've been buying them for $25 per 1K and $120 per 5K brick. Been buying them from a seller on GB but sadly he is now out thanks to all the panic hoarders. He did have a bunch of people cancel their orders so I was able to score another 20K and then another 2K and he made a deal with me that he would let me know whenever he found anymore hiding in the warehouse, so far he has called me two times more. I was almost sick when I looked at his listed auctions and no longer saw the 41s listed. Paying $40 or $50 a box just makes me I'll after getting them for half of that. I'm real happy to have given this guy my business over the past few years, on primers as well as many other things, and I feel blessed to enjoy a decent business relationship with him.

Was in the local gun retailer and was intent on picking up CCi 41 and saw the $50 /1000 tag and walked away. That is too much while all the other primers are 35. Really just don't get it.

I believe the BR4s and 450s have the same cup thickness as the 41s just not the same distance between the anvil and the cup. I use both the BR4s and 450s and have never had a slam fire. Anyway the 450s can still be had online and at my LGS for $35/ thousand. The BR4s run around $50.

Yeah, I have no idea why the 41s are so much more than other primers in their class. I agree that it makes no sense.

When I started out reloading for my 556 guns my sole intent was to clone a bunch of the expensive mil loadings and the ones I was able to actually find and buy samples of to disect to examine the components of seemed to have primers that appeared closest to the 41s, the Mk262 might have a Remington but I got better results with the 41 soni I used them. Then I discovered how much more they were than others. BUT........

I found a seller on GB who sold them for $25 per 1k I couldn't believe the luck. I ended up buying from him for over 3 years until..........

The kungflu happened along and the panic started. Patrick was bought out in about 1 month. The last time I remember looking at his stock level it was something like 140,000 units so that's 140,000 1k boxes and he sold out in about 4 weeks. I couldn't believe it took people that long to find him. Fortunately for me several people canceled in him and he had several 5k cases in the warehouse. He did tell me he had raised the price from $25 to $28 though, I still bought 4 5k bricks. He gave me a little break.

I guess my point to all this is why does he sell them for $28 for 1k and most others are right around $40 and locally I've seen them for $50, which I did not buy.

They sell for $50 a thousand because people will pay it. I am seeing 5.56 for $600 a thousand that was selling for under $400 a thousand a few months ago. Purely that expensive because there is less of it available but people will pay it. In high school I would buy a box of 8 donuts for about 50 cents and eat them in class, I had guys giving me 25 cents for one donut just because I had them and they wanted them.
