Well I recently received my magazines from 44mag.com. I ordered a dozen SS 25rd mags for my 6.8. The finish and weld are awesome. When I went to put them in my rifle, the first mag was tight and I had to slap the base of the magazine to get it to set. Needless to say the mag would not drop free. I then tried the other 11 magazines. In total, only 2 would would set/fit in the magwell and drop free without a hitch :?. I was a bit disappointed since the three I initally bought worked flawlessly.

I actually tried all 12 mags in two different lowers just to make sure. One is a RRA and the other is a Sun Devil Mfg lower (On my 6.8 upper). Also, I tried a P-mag, Lancer, and a USGI mag and they all fit perfectly in my lowers and dropped free.

I e-mailed 44mag this morning and they immediately responded to send them back and that they wold take some measurements to ensure the replacements would fit.

So, if anyone recently received some C-Product mags I highly recommend that you try each and everyone in your lower. I'm hoping that the batch/lot received was not all out of spec. Anyone else experience this?

OK - I just received a batch of six a couple of days ago that I ordered direct from CP. You got me nervous so I opened all the plastic bags and tried them all ... no issues whatsoever. All drop freely from my Stag lower. Also tested the six I purchased used from Paulo - no problems with those either. Two more lowers should be arriving in a couple of days so I'll repeat the test with them - but I don't expect there will be any problem.

I'm actually relieved yours fit. I sincerely hope my order was just an isolated incident of out of spec mags. What are the odds 10 out of 12 were tight :?: :?: :?:

ETA...Sent the 10 mags back to 44Mag. I'm fully confident that they'll take care of the issue.

I purchased two 25 rd CP mags and both did not drop freely. I tried it on a Spike Tactical & LRB lower and it did not drop freely. I also ordered one 30 rd 5.56 mad from CP and that worked fine. I contacted 44mags and they said no problem send it back and they will replace it. I got an email from them today and they said they tested the mags I returned on several of their ARs and it worked fine. That's just weird. They said they were just going to issue a credit on my credit card. I have to say they are accommodating and so far good customer service.

I ordered four from 44mag when they had the last sale. Three out of the four were tight in the mag well. The one dropped free with no problems, the other three had a variety of troubles. Of the three that didn't drop free, two were not square in the corners causing them to bind in the front left corner. Putting presure on the two corners that were pushed out (such as doing a pushup on them while holding them in the right way) fixed those two and they drop free now. The last problem mag had a botched weld on the top most back (the top weld on the back side of the mag). It caused the mag to be a bit too wide on the back side and bind there. I popped the weld loose with some percussive maintenance and need to get out to my dad's to tack it back in the right way.

And before anyone asks why I didn't send them back, for $13 a mag, I feel I can afford to fiddle around with them until they either work right or I learn a new way not to destroy them. I'd not be so apathetic toward a PRI giving me these fits.

I have a C-Products mag that will not drop free from one lower but it drops freely from another. I just purchased a new lower a couple of weeks ago and I took the sticky mag with me to try in different lowers. The first one I picked up it would not drop free, the second one I picked up it dropped free easily. These were brand new stripped lowers and the two I tried had consecutive serial numbers. Not sure what is going on but this has been my experience. I still have a bunch of mags to test though.

Sometimes the difference between a stuck mag and a free mag is a few ten thousandths.

I recently (last month) bought 8 25rd C-prod mags and 2 10 rd C-prod mags, and they all drop free from my RRA lower with no problems, loaded or unloaded.

I must be lucky. The only problems I've had with the C-Products mags was a minor feed issue. I Dremeled the front end
on a couple of them and no more problems. But they all drop free. Sounds like a few bad ones slipped through QC. Glad they are being replaced. Thank God for good customer service:D

Same problem with C-P sticky in my Stag lower but not in my Tactical Machining lower. I think after using them for awhile they will drop free.

Sometimes the difference is a few thousandths in the LOWER. S&W had a group of lowers that would not work
with ANY PMags awhile ago. Still you are not going to sell your lower so you gotta get rid of the mag and try all your mags
to ensure they fit.

Lowers vary a LOT an some people do not take into account it may not be purely the mag's fault. For example, I have 8 Spikes Tactical lowers. I just got two of the .40 round CP 5.56 mags. One mag dropped free from all of them. The other mag dropped free from 6 of them, lightly hanging in two lowers. So, it is most certainly a combination of both mag and lower differences. I very lightly compressed the sides of the mag in a vice, 1/4 turn of the handle past snug, and presto, now it drops free from everything and the follower does not bind.
So, don't be too quick to blame only the mag, sometimes the lower is just as much at fault as are the mags. Tolerances tend to stack up, mag on max, mag well on minimum, both are within spec but the mag won't drop free and NOBODY has made a bad part.
