Title says it all.... my bushnell elite 4200 1.25-4x24 scope held its zero but the vertical crosshair split so there is an angled line next to the vertical one. still works but its clearly broke. Get this...the 15.00 accushot 1 pc mount is still in tact and like new after 20 rounds of .50 but the optic already took a poo.... I may just get a cheap scope since they fail me less than the more costly ones... my leapers/accushot scope was outstanding on my .300 win mag.

It was under warranty right? Hopefully. Make sure to tell them it was on your AR (not lying), and not a 50 cal AR. ;) Just leave out the 50 cal part when you make your warranty claim.

How's the 50 upper doing for you BlackLion?

Yeah it was on may AR15 ;)

I am still within the first year so I am under that bulletproof no questions asked warranty.

The .50 is consistently beating the shyt out of the 400+ yd granite rock. I am looking to get 1000 yds when I can find a big enough rock to prove it. The only confirmation is the smoke puff the armor piercing round sends up in the air or the rock blowing up. I am not much for punching paper at the range but I may get it over to angeles with some of the other .50 guys and pop some steel targets..... there is nothing like being out in open country shootin... just me and whatever I want to shoot. Visual confirmation of a hit at 100+ yds distance is enough for me...no need to walk out there to take measurements or retrieve paper. The 6.8 was reaching out to 400yds nice and straight... consistently hit the "man size" rock and even with muffs made an audible thud....6.8 also almost pierced a 3/8" rolled steel plate at 100yds...it left a 1/2" hole with a bubble on the other end.... impressive... .45 acp just bounced off leaving only abrasions...

.50 would have killed it so I shoot granite instead.

It balances nice and shoots straight...also functions properly... cant comlpain

Its good to be part of the heavy hitter club and it only cost me a thousand dollars.

Well you should get a replacement scope if they can't repair it.

I like that 50 upper of yours. For a grand, that's a great way to get into 50's. Down the line, I'll probably get one for myself.

There are Bohica bashers out there. My take is this... I wanted a "workhorse" or "daily driver" .50 to fit my needs based on my current situation. I wanted a .50 for specific reasons.. A. distance B. power.... I plan on being able to cover a 1000 yds and eventually a mile and destroy man or machine size targets. Of course, I have an uphill battle ahead but I have something that I can tow and beat to get there... I can see myself as a new .50 shooter sitting behind an expensive cannon that outshoots and outclasses me just to say its mine... It sits in my drag bag and it gets to work consistently... I have only hammered 20 rounds or so and that is definately not a testament I know but its a start....Its not a volume shooter, Its for powerful precision. Each round is a meal for me so every one counts. I dont care to lob rounds downrange indiscriminately, I want confirmed hits at long ranges.

It has its quirks and its one of those tinker jobs to some extent. It has afforded me the opportunity to custom tune it and eventually handload my own cartridges.... similar to the 6.8

Atleast it was the scope and not your collar bone. :)
True. I am religios about wearing my armor and shooting with my plate carrier rig on despite the heckling I have received for doing so.You do what you train and by doing so you find out what gear is gtg and what is useless. Witch reminds me. While shooting I also wear ballistic eyewear from either revision or wiley-x... this past time I had on my wiley-x sg-1...while getting my scope focused between shots I mis-guaged my eye relief trying to get the correct cheek weld and let a flier go...at the same time getting a scope reticle to the nose bridge/eye socket. I felt it but not enough to "hurt" me but it did make me laugh with stupidity. These are some tough ass glasses and If I didnt have them on I would have a scar. They work very well and are very flexible. I only notice light ring marks on the lens and bridge. I also wear the revision desert locust but they dont work well with scopes with less than 4" of eye relief....

I had an NcStar scope a while back to broke from the reoil of my .270. It was the 6x24 illuminated rangefinding scope they offer for about $120-$150. The crosshair ended up having an upward bend on it as well as the last 2 ranging bars. After that, I said I was never going to buy a cheap scope again. But I now have a millett dms and love it.

tell me about it...Nc star is shyt... overpriced shyt... everything I have purchased from them has failed one way or another...

Now my experience with Leapers/Accushot/UTG is the exact opposite...everything I have purchased from them has held up... I had a leapers scope on my .300 win mag and went thru 50 rounds with no shift in zero and even the illumination still worked... on top of that, the scope stayed in tact when the scope rings that came with the rifle broke under recoil.... on my 6.8 I have a Accushot/UTG flip up front sight and match grade rear sight which is identical to that of LMT and RRA etc... both have held up wonderfully...especially the rear since I mounted it on my .50 for a few shots just to see if it could be used as an iron sight on it.... I had a UTG quad rail on my FAL and other than the screws it was a great piece... I currently have that bushnell on an accushot 1 piece scope mount wich has held up to 20 rounds of .50 even when the scope did not....

some shyt is good... some shyt is just shyt...

I love Millett.... I owned a Zoom Dot and loved it... sold it to set up the 6.8 with a 1-4x and now look...

I am going to send my bushnell in to be replaced and then sell it ... I am going to try another brand.
