Burris has one that sells for $200. Anyone using one?

It uses a 30 mm ring/tip off mount, purchased separately but there is something that has tethered caps on the Tripler.

The question is, What are the caps for?

It is a magnifier and does not have a reticle that needs adjustment so why the caps? I can't find anything on the Burris site to tell what the caps are for. It does "look" like it has an adjustable diopter on the eye piece but I don't know.

caps cover adj screws that adjust centering of optics instead of doing the same op on mounts. Can't remember if the Burris has the dioptic adjustment.

I know why.... the caps are used to help keep the dails in place so if you bump it around (It happens)the recticle stays centered...extra protection. also the focus dail in back helps sharpen the image more. AND if you want to know a secret...the tripler will also work with a burris ar-332 scope combined together boosting the powerfrom 3x to 6x power AND It`ll magnify the size of the recticle making it much easier to use for longer range shooting.

The dot on the red dot won't be centered in the magnifier. The caps cover the adjustment screws so you can center the dot in the magnifier. It's not completely necessary, and it doesn't affect point of impact, but it does seem easier to use when your dot is in the center of the magnifier instead of off to the side.

I just got the Burris Ar-332 and am wanting to get the tripler. Ive also heard it works better if you change the 332 mount with an acog mount and put the tripler with a standard aimpoint mount.

yes indeed its way more stable. I purchased the american defense B3 acog mount for the ar-332 and the american defense ad-68 standard aimpoint mount for the tripler. It lines up perfect.
