New to the 6.8, have had different thoughts on bullet choice, originally I had leaned toward the 90 gn. bullets from Sierra and Speer, my intended uses include coyote,(2 and 4 legged) at short to moderate distance w/ an Eotech, after having read numerous posts on this forum, I ordered 1500 115 gn. bullets(Sierra MK's and Remmy 115 FMJ's), some of your posts talk about better accuracy w/ the 90's, how well do they hold-up at any distance? My experience would lean toward heavier bullets beyond 200 yds. Forgive me, newbie(to the 6.8), I appreciate any and all input, criticism, also, which powders have performed best for you, I have a fair amount of H335, that was my intended powder. Thanks, steer me in the right direction! Russ

Welcome aboard glad to have another 6.8 brother. The Speer 90gr TNT is the hot ticket, there are members here with the right barrel spec that have been able to produce rounds that would outshoot the 308 out 600 yds. Check the reloading section of the forum there is a TON of info there on what combos worked and which didn't. Not many guys shooting the Rem FMJ I hear their accuarcy sucks but I have never shot them. I have loaded both the Speer & Sierra 90gr and like the Speer a little bit better. Have fun and again welcome

The Speer 90 Gr. TNT with 33-34 Gr. of H335 should be a great load. H4198 also works great for the 90 Gr. bullets.
The 115 Gr. bullets are OK, but the velocties are much lower than the 90's. For the 115 Gr. bullets, you can go up to 29.5 Gr. of H335.

The 90gr TNT's should work quite well for Coyotes. The Remington 115gr FMJ is a good training bullet for CQB type stuff. I fired 25 of them into a quarter size group at 25 yards in aimed rapid fire the other day. I wouldn't use them for any kind of hunting as I don't know what the terminal ballistic performance would be. Welcome to the 6.8 but beware, it's addictive! :D

The 90 gr bullet hands down are what you want. They are super accurate and have a flatter trajectory with less drop then any of the 115s and all but the TTSX, Accubond and is about tied with the Vmax. When you match up the info from the different ones the 90s beat all in accuracy expect for the PH and sometimes the SMKS but they shoot much much flatter then either. The vmax is a close match in general perf but the 90 destroys it in accuracy as the vmax is next to impossible to get consistent accurate groups. THE accubond beats it and can get close to the same accuracy but is much more $$$ and is to tough for varmints. The 90 sierras tend to have the same accuracy but has far worse trajecotry. The 90 Speer TNT look for the 650 count value packs. Best accuracy can be had with H322, Rel 7, H4198, Norma 200 with top vel from Norma 200, Rel 7, AA1680, and H4198

Thanks for the input guys, kick myself in the butt for not following my first impressions on th 90's! Guess I'll have to burn 1500 115's! Gonna order some 90's tommorrow! We do coyote drives, just like deer drives, hardly ever have the chance to shoot beyond 200 yds. Shoulda thunk(thick skull!!!) that 90's would have been optimal for this application. Must be the Norwegion in me! Lena's callin, gotta go! Russ

Russ, don't sweat the 115's, they shoot good too. Just relax. Have a nice dinner of klubb with bacon drippings and some buttered lefse with sugar afterwards and all will be right with the world.

A fellow thickheaded Norwegian shooting a 6.8.
