Hey guys I am in the middle of building a throne (lower) for my 6.8 queenie. Heres my question; I am running a 16" w/ a mid length gas system and I will be running a UBR stock, I am looking at LMTs carbine and Heavy carbine buffers as well as Spikes new SST buffers. The thing runs like a CHAMP with my stock bushy lower now.

I am leaning towards the LMT carbine figuring its probably the closests to what my stock bushy has. any thoughts or suggestions?

BTW: I talked to the LMT sales rep and they have put there ambi safety selectors on the web today (alla me asking how I can get my dirty hands on one) if anyone is looking.

I found that using a regular carbine buffer with stock recoil spring was not enough to get the brass ejected at the desireable area (3-5 oclock). I had to go up to a H2 buffer, and switched to a Tubbs flat spring.

I have heard very little about buffer springs, LMT's spring is 4.50 is there really that much of a difference for the Tubb (~30$)? Price isn't so much an issue (on this particular build) but I like to know the added price is money well spent.

How does the Tubb spring differ performance wise? Is there any other springs or buffers I should give a look at?

thanks for all the help guys, this is my most extensive build and all premium parts.

The Tubes Springs help with reducing the recoil and slowing down the action and they last much longer than the regular springs.

I would try the regular and h-buffer and see how they work.

Paul,

thanks for the great advise, I did just that. If I run into problems or "needed" enhancements then I'll look at the tubb or a fancy buffer. (i just plunked down a bunch for my norgon lol)

thanks for all the info guys!
