Hi All,
I've been learning a ton from this site and AR15.com and have a dumb question. As a new guy, I pretty much fired my new 6.8 dry, but only 18 rounds and took it home. I stripped the gun and noticed the Cam pin has a shiny ovoid spot where it impacts the bolt carrier. It is enough to stop a fingernail but not gouged or pitted.
My question is, is this normal or did my lack of knowledge to really lube the gun screw up this part?

I think you'll be okay just lube that thing up before you shoot it. If you wanted you could but a new cam pin and not have any worries.

I am new to AR's- Now that I live in AZ I can actually own one unlike NJ!
