Very nice. What scope are you using?

I had a contender barrel at one time in 6.8spc that was cut for a counter bore and I formed brass from 30-30 and 375 win. Wish I would have kept that barrel.

It is a Burris handgun scope 3x-12x - 32mm, held on by Wheeler rings with the reticle level on a picatinny rail. I absolutely enjoy the recoil and stopping power of the 6.8 in my AR, so I figured that it would make an excellent round for the Encore platform. 1st deer with it and hopefully many more to follow.

The gun started out as 1 of 2 - 7mm.08 Encore pistols that I have. (1 blued frame, 1 stainless frame) The twist rate is 1 in 10" for the .270/6.8mm diameter bullets. From the lead sled, the gun shoots sub-moa at 100 yards. The barrel is considered the "heavy factory .810" profile. It is chrome moly blued finish bead blasted. They laser engraved it with the John Dryden quote to boot. Pretty quick turnaround time from order to receipt, had enough time to sight it in but it is far from being broken in fully.

Last time I stopped in here was 2012 posted pics of a 10pt that I got with a Stag 7 (6.8). "NY 10 vs. Stag 7" I plan on taking the pistol out again soon before muzzleloader season. I still have a bear tag and a doe tag for a neighboring WMU (Wildlife Management Unit). I might do some lurking soon, need a few good recipes for 6.8 reloads.

Most Excellent, Sir!!!

I love pistol hunting. Larry Weishuhn got me into it 31 years ago.
I have 4 Magnum Research Lone Eagles. 3 are 7mm-08 and 1 is .308WIN.

I enjoy hunting with a pistol, this is a buck harvested opening day in NY, WMU 3k with a 7mm.08 TC Encore rifle. I was also inspired by Larry W. I will be more than happy to tell you about years hunting, pistols used and game taken in a thread dedicated to that. I owe the doe, and a 10 pt to the 6.8, clean living and living by the 1st principles. I look great in selfies for a half century.
