I picked up a custom 14.5" 6.8 rem spc II barrel from MGM for one of my TC Encore pistol frames. Used it Tuesday the 23rd to take down a doe at @70 yards. I was using Hornady 120gn SST's. Good luck this season.
It is a Burris handgun scope 3x-12x - 32mm, held on by Wheeler rings with the reticle level on a picatinny rail. I absolutely enjoy the recoil and stopping power of the 6.8 in my AR, so I figured that it would make an excellent round for the Encore platform. 1st deer with it and hopefully many more to follow.Very nice. What scope are you using?
I had a contender barrel at one time in 6.8spc that was cut for a counter bore and I formed brass from 30-30 and 375 win. Wish I would have kept that barrel.
Last time I stopped in here was 2012 posted pics of a 10pt that I got with a Stag 7 (6.8). "NY 10 vs. Stag 7" I plan on taking the pistol out again soon before muzzleloader season. I still have a bear tag and a doe tag for a neighboring WMU (Wildlife Management Unit). I might do some lurking soon, need a few good recipes for 6.8 reloads.That... is one FINE lookin' pistola right there... and, a fine doe for the freezer as well. Congrats. And... don't be a stranger, just be strange.
Reside in 3K, had a 3H - the doe pictured. Have a 3M but highly unlikely that I will use it. Have a couple of buddies coming down shortly when muzzleloader kicks in.What WMU do you hunt? I’m in 1c and also hunt 7r but I’m looking at hunting 8p, 8t, or 8w next year.
