I just got invited on a Turkey hunt in North Texas.... never shot a turkey, never been any where i hunt. What is the best thing to hunt turkey with? 12 guage with buck shot? Wonder if i should use my 6.8 with TA31DOC ACOG.... bet ya that would be a sweet headshot.

the last two turkeys I killed were with a .30-06
Was there anything left afterwards :?:
Hunted a little it can be exciting. I use a bow mainly for them the guiiolltine is cool. :D
12 g with 4,5,6's like Jason said you want your tightest (full) choke if not a turkey choke that fits your shotgun.

Where it is legal try cast lead bullets with reduced loads in your high power rifles. In most cases it punches a hole through them with little to no meat destruction. I haven't got to shoot turkeys that way but shooting deer with hard cast bullets out of a .44 mag it works well. It does break any bones it connects with but does very little meat damage otherwise.

Does anyone hunt? It's easy to shoot a turkey. But, can you call it within spitting distance? :D

If it's out of season... I've heard  The 17hmr works really well. :D
I hunt for two reasons. Fun & to put food on the table, It's not about sport for me, it's about the means to an end result. Can I get my own food in my time off from work or do I have to work that much harder to go and buy it.

WTG!! I've missed two with my bow this year . Never missed one before and I miss two at 15 yards. It's not hard to miss with a guillotine though...atleast that's what I keep telling myself. DECAPITATION SURE IS FUN.
