I grew up with his music. He'll definitely be missed.

A young 69. I didn't realize he lived in Savannah, GA.
The best of Southern Rock from Macon. RIP
Stop by the Allman Bros museum in Macon on your next trip down. Then get an Allman burger at the Rookery.

Except that no one in the band was from Macon. The band was formed in Jacksonville Fl. Duane and Greg were born in Nashville and grew up in Daytona Beach Fl. Dicky Betts was born in West Palm Beach and grew up in Bradenton Fl. Berry Oakley was from Chicago. Butch Trucks was from Jacksonville. Jaimoe Johanson was from Mississippi. Not to be a stickler but I really don't get where people come up with that line about them being a band from Macon. They recorded on Capricorn Records out of Macon. They moved to Macon for a period of time to be near Capricorn who also gave them a studio to rehearse in and two of them died in Macon but none of them were from there. For the most part they were a Florida band.
skydog (duane) named his guitar Hotlanta
