My hunting buddy got a decent buck on my property Saturday morning. It was his first rifle kill, but he has a couple with a bow. His rifle wasn't sighted in, so he used one of mine. We had a ton of pictures of this buck and I saw him a couple times during bow season, but never had a shot. We just called him 'the lopsided 8'.

Ammo was 100 grain softpoint handloads (discontinued Hornady bullets). He was quartered to him a little. Bullet went in a little forward on the shoulder and came out other side far back in the ribs. Good sized exit and he barely made it 50 yards. We have killed 6 deer and a couple coyotes with this load now. I've got a ton of 90 gr Gold Dots ready when I run out of these.

Rifle is about a 14" Wilson Combat stainless barrel with pinned BCM .30 cal comp. Optic is NightForce NX8 1-8. Barrel has about 3k rounds on it, but it's still shooting good.

Congrats to the happy hunter. Nice buck, nice bang-stick too.
