I ordered one of those 57 uppers from palamento state about a month ago it was shipped quickly and when I got home I played around with it a bit fired 50 rounds out of it and had no issues but I was waiting on the optic I got from the group buy on another site before I really sighted it in and called it good.
Here is the upper mounted onto a Spikes infidel lower I had laying around.

Here is the 5.7x28 round next to a 556 and a 6.8 SPC

here is the target I shot with this upper:

I sighted it in at first at 25 yards with the 40 grain Vmax round. It was shooting low left but I finaly got it into the middle. The optic clicks were true and it got me on target quickly. after I got the rounds on target I fired 5 rounds of the SS192 the ball ammo at the upper right hand target the SS197 Vmax round at the middle target and the SS195 the 27 grain lead free bullet at the lower left hand target. I then went back to the 50 and shot them all again with 5 rounds each. all the rounds are shooting about a half inch low at 25 and about the same high at 50 which is good. I dont expect to use this rifle much past that. I then set up some clays and such and shot them with ease at the 50 yard line in a sitting position. I plan on going back later and shooting some milk jugs with the different rounds to see how they do when they impact fluids. Again I dont really have a purpose for this rifle but that has never stopped me before

I like the idea of the mag on top.
I would probably like it better in 9x19.

That would be a nice little package, very clean profile with 50 rounds of 9x19 on top with nothing in the mag well.
Folding stock / SBR or pistol...

:lol: I asked about it and then you went and bought one huh? Is it as fun to shoot as it seems like it would be? What's the magwell ejection like?

It is fun to shoot the bottom eject caused no issues, the only one is the hot brass would hit my hand while in the prone but it wasnt that big of a deal

If you have an old mag laying around take out the follower and spring....a 20 rd makes a great brass catcher :mrgreen:

I did take the follower and spring out of a mag to test that but you have to cut the mag down to fit into the magwell as the upper wont allow the feed lips to where they normaly go and as such the mag wont lock into place. I dont want to cut up any of my mags right now so I havent used this option

Nope just water... I know boring... that work bench is a mess I need to head to wallyworld and get a bunch of bins to semi organize that room

the little red dot seems to be okay so far we will see. I dont plan on using it much past 50 yards anyways so it should be fine

chaos is good... I was actually happy your bench looked that way becuase its exactly how mine would look.... you will pick it all up and put it away in its own cubby and next week it will be all over the place again.... its a beautiful thing....

Yeah I just need to organize it since I want to use it as a reloading and as a work bench so it needs to be organized a lot better before I start that. The paint is going to have to wait since it has been cold and wet and the paint will take forever to dry.

As a side note I just shot a squirrel at the bird feeder. Not something I usually do since I like feeding all the animals but I wanted to see what the 40 grain vmax loading would do. Well the first shot caught him high in the shoulder and just cleaned the whole thing out... he was hit and grabbed onto the branch second shot caught him in the hind and cleaned that hole area out. Looks like these vmaxs are very explosive at 25 yards or so. I wouldnt use this on anything much large.. I am going to shoot some water jugs with the different rounds to see how they do. This will fill the role that I want for it perfect... basically a rifle the GF can shoot with ease at feral cats and not have to use up all the good 556 ammo in her house gun
