Or it means that they are hard to find and people are doing a lot of looking to find them. There have been times, when I went there multiple times a day, when "in stock" to "out of stock" was often a matter of minutes. Or prices have gone up and everyone is bargain shopping. I can remember back when SSA was about the only source and not being able to type in an order fast enough to complete it before they ran out.
