suggest you call Aero or an Aero dealer, they have (not listed as in stock) M5E1 with 12" rails they are closing out. i just bought 2 of them for a couple of 16" 308's

just got off the phone with aero, the M5E gen II combo uppers should appear on their site today some time or another. i just bought a 15" that i'm setting aside for an ARP barrel
I'm stuck on the SLR rails, used them on my last two M5 builds. I scored a good deal on a M5 upper/lower combo recently so now it's build #3... this time I'm going with a 20" .308 build.
i'll have the 2 12" rail combos thursday, have 2 lowers built and waiting, one will be for a 16" barrel i have, i was gonna save the other for an 18", but used that barrel in the Falkor upper/lower/rail rifle i just finished, might build another 18 for the market place, i bought the 15" this morning and thinking about a 20 for it
I was very close to trying the AP rail with the M5 upper I'm using on my current X-Caliber 16" build, the combo looks good. I decided to stick with the OdinWorks 12.5 keymod I used on the 18". I don't know much about the AP rail installation, OdinWorks installation is a breeze, and I like not having to "clock" barrel nut. It might be the same with AP, just don't know.

There is no clocking of the barrel nut on the M4E1 or M5E1 and the handgaurd just slides on and is attached with screws to the boss that is part of the forging. It really doesn't get much simpler. It makes for basically a monolithic upper/rail.
yep, using the enhanced upper and rail makes it simple. mega does a similar attachment, but with the billet price tag
Nice!!! similar to the OdinWorks installation. Maybe on the next project.

i bought 2 of their close out 12" M5E upper/rail combos to go with the lowers i bought. just test fit one and it's super tight, no slop at all. with the close out price and the blemless lower i think i'll be in a nice rifle for less than 7 franklins, still have a lower and another of the close out uppers, plus ordered a 15" railed upper as well. gone from 308 poor to a bumper harvest
Looks you're going to have a whole lotta fun, congrats!!!
