Ok, I know many will think I am commiting heresy when I ask, does anyone make a true 4.25 Commander length 9mm 1911. I like the Sig C3 revolution but it is only available in .45. The Springfields are 5" and their EMPs are 3.5. STIs come close at 4.1 but I can't find anyone who has one in stock to look at. I have seen LW Commanders at gunshows for 800 but without knowing the history and sellers not letting me disassmble their pistols for inspection no money will change hands.

Other (expensive) options seem to be buy the Sig, send it off to get a Caspian slide and barrel fitted. And yes I have considered the Browning HP.

So if anyone know of a quality 9mm 1911 at reasonable prices, please post. I can't afford a full Wilson or Nighthawk Custom. Thanks

Kimber Pro Aegis II, I haven't seen one but it is listed on their website. 4" barrel but I think it is close to what you are looking for.

I don't think looking for a 1911 in 9mm is heresy. I have noticed a lot of IDPA shooters that are using 9mm in 1911s, I think it is to shoot more for less, and have more rounds. Sorry, I'm not really sure what brands are used though.

I have a Wilson Stealth in 9mm and love it. It's my carry gun. I also have a D & L Sports Professional model full sized 1911, but for carry purposes, a full sized 1911 is a little too big for me.

My brother carries an Emp and I really enjoy shooting it, as well. I shoot more accurately with the Wilson, but I suck so "accurate" is maybe an exaggeration, heh.
