Went out shooting yesterday and set up a 7/16th steel plate to post my targets on. Well at 100yrd those babies were punching clean through I was very impressed to say the least!

Nice work, was that the Sierra Varminter or Speer TNT?

That is soft steel for sure. The TNT is a fragile bullet with a thin jacket.

It was the TNT, regardless of soft steel or not I was pretty impressed at that range to get it punching nice complete holes through the plate. It wasnt partials or warped but very nice circular holes anyway thought I'd share next time ill get some pics.

Not slighting or refuting your results only that the tnt has proven many time to be a fragile bullet. But speed does great thing. I bet from your descrip the holes look like the were melted thru like a plasma torch :mrgreen: . That is what they generally look like when you get high enough vel. It looks like it literally melts its way thru.
