I'm looking at getting another upper for my 7.62X39 lower. I would like a 6.8SPC upper but what about mags???
Has anyone tried loading 6.8SPC into a 10 or 15 round AK mag?

Never tried it in an AK mag as i dont own one but they have worked in 7.62x39 AR mags from Duramag (20rd) just dont load more than 15 or so as the case geometry doesnt like the bend in the mag.

Until the OP responds we will not know but Rock River has the LAR-47 which is a special lower that takes AK mags and uses a proprietary upper I believe.

I have noticed 30 round 7.63x39 mags for AR-15 platform have a curve that is not present on the other AR-15 caliber mags

Yes but they are still AR mags not AK. Unless he has the KS47 or similar. Never seen and AR that takes AK mags.

Just starting a list of those that can accept AK mags.

CMMG MK47/Mutant
PSA KS47 as stated above
RR LAR 47 as stated above

MGI made on a few years back that has interchangable mag well but I dont know how well that worked. They were pretty expensive as the lower seen below was $99 but the magwells were $275 each. Neat concept but way over priced.

I've done the opposite, using a 15 rd 6.8 mag for a 7.62x39 chambered ar15. It was bench shooting and didn't see how many would fit, but it certainly wasn't more than 10.
