I know the 6.8 is good about not losing as much velocity as most guns with shorter barrels. Do we have a chart that shows a correlation of the estimated drop in velocities per inch in barrel? I know the general figure, I think, was around 50 fps per inch. If so would it be about the same throughout the range of bullets?
I ask because I have seen a chart posted, on another forum, showing the relative speeds dependent on barrel lengths comparing the .300, 5.56 and 6.8(for specific loads). Of course my thought is it appears the chart was created using some kind of formula rather than actual chronographed numbers. That makes me a little suspect of the chart to begin with because we all know no one would cheat on the numbers! lol
