Well, it snowed like crazy again today so I decided to play with the 6.8 pistol. I started out with a 11" barrrel and a carbine gas and it works great with everything except 90gr TNTs and RE7, just a slight short cycle. I could use a plastic buffer to fix that little problem.
I installed a M2 aimpoint that works good out to 50yds but, it was more fun with a green laser shooting from any position. I wish it was FA.
Then I popped a 9.5" with a pistol gas system on my pistol lower and swapped the laser over. Holy crap! that thing is crazy shooting from the hip. So now I'm sending off the paper work to turn it into a SBR and slap a can on the front, talk about clearing house!
I wanted to mount a HK stock on it but, they are heavy so now I just need to find a light, short stock.

I'm getting the LWRC PSD 8" SBR and am looking at faster powders like H4198 and RE7. What do you think about H4227?

If you use a pistol length gas system fast powders should cycle.
At 8" 94% of H4227 would be burnt.
3031 is course and a pain to cut.
Re7, 4227,1680 and 4198 would be the best IMO.

For the 100psp from a 8 " barrel-I set the max pressure at 55k anything that gets close to 55k will say Dangerous load because I set the max pressure at 55k. I set my personal loads to 60k

I am on a mission to see how many AR15 cartridges I can wildcat that will beat the famous british Grendel with Bills specified loads, so far I have 4 this year. There is a 6.8SPC ackley improved floating around too. Even my normal old 6.8 will shoot flatter than the Grendel to 500yards with some loads. I'll start working on the 6x41SPC again soon

Has there been anymore testing done with a 6.8 AR Pistol? I was wondering if there were anymore information to post, or this is a project that was shelved? Esp since there was so much more done with the caliber since the last post in this thread.

I keep it close in case someone is stupid enough to break in here :lol:

I changed it to the 12" barrel with a carbine gas system, never did SBR it just left the pistol buffer on it. Aimpoint and laser with IR torch to work with NVD if needed.

H, Would this be a possibility using an Xtre.e barrel? I dont know if you order the barrels with the gas port already drilled or if you profile and drill it yourself.

I think could install a .625 GB at the carbine location and cut the barrel to 11 1/2" so I could use the mid gas boss to thread for the flash hider.

I only used a comp on it once, it was kind of loud then decided a A2 would be better to keep it short although a Dpms Panther may work better for the flash. I have it loaded with hot 115gr Hornadys and it handles just fine and the fireball from the H335 will roast anyone I miss...or cauterise the wound.

Do you think that Ackley improved would feed through an AR15?
