i have googled this alittle, and some forums come up and most say " we will not talk about this topic" i was wondering if i could get a history of this round. i don't want to own one, just learn a little more about it, and why it failed. atleast i think it failed, since i don't hear about it.

if this is a flame thread than please lock it. since i have seen other forums lock/ban people for bringing it up.

The .499 was a Leitner-Wise caliber. I don't know the specs on it, just that it was offered years ago and LWRCI doesn't make them now. SSA does make brass for the caliber.
