IIRC, the Stoner 450 bushmaster barrels and uppers are BCA. BCA’s 450 bushmaster barrels and uppers have a pretty good track record. They do have some issues, but for the price, it might be worth playing around with it. My recommendation, if someone does buy BCA, don’t get anything with a melonite barrel. The low price comes at a cost. You are going to get looser allowable tolerances and more machining marks. Melonite basically locks that in. Untreated bores will be easier to clean up if there is an issue with the bore.

I gaveup on the AR platform(BCA) due to many headache from issues constantly arising . Went the bolt gun route and not looked back then I traded it. Messing around with 350 Legend right now but may get another 450 upper to from a different manufacture.

I have an upper from midway with a 16 inch barrel and it shoots great. I've heard the midway stuff is made by bear creek so I would assume there uppers are just as good.
I just checked. The exact same upper is ~$40 cheaper on Bear Creek's website but Midway has free (fast!) shipping that you don't get at Bear Creek without padding the order to $300. The reviews on both sites are great.

Now I have to finish convincing myself that I really, really, really, genuinely do NOT need another AR.

Late to the game, but it is better to buy from BCA since they have a LIFETIME warranty. Midway only offers a year (or 2, maybe). Big difference when you consider BCA is also cheaper.

I've got 2. One still won't eject a round after sending it back to them for repair. (The repair was because they forgot to drill the gas hole in the barrel.) The other cycles fine. Neither one does better than 3.5-4.5 MOA with ANY type ammo from the factory.

I gave up[ and ordered 2 from RRA. ;) The BCA will be used for cast lead hand loads after I send the no-eject-one back AGAIN for warranty repair.

Worth it for the price, but don't expect it to run flawlessly without sending it back for repair AND don't expect better than 2-3MOA from it.
