Especially since Howa already makes the Carbon Stalker in their mini action rifle line. I believe in .223 Remington, 7.62X39, and 6.5 Grendel with a 22-inch threaded barrel, and the 350 Legend with a 16.25-inch threaded barrel, the rifle line is using a Stocky's Custom Carbon Fiber wrapped stock to keep weight down. The lightest rifle in the line? 4 lbs. 10 ozs..

More thoughts on a Howa Carbon Stalker mini action 400 Legend.

The mini action rebarrel is a DIY thing. Unlike the older 1500s the barrel removal isn't a GS job. Almost all of the major makers make the smaller shank size for the mini now.

If you get the Carbon Stalker you are half way there if light and handy is your goal like it is mine.

The next to last piece for 6.8ers was the .422 bolt face, and the 400 Legend fixes that with a factory bolt. The last piece would be mags & feeding, but I don't think anything that popped up would be insurmountable.
