The end-users who have ASKED for a .338 MMG are specifically looking to use them on vehicle, boat, and aircraft mounts to replace M240's, NOT M2's.
Is any entity currently developing a .338 machine gun? Crane? FN? GD? Anybody?

why don't you just answer the questions instead of being vague and obnoxious?

Because most of the questions posed by you and owenslee have been vague and/or obnoxious, but when I asked for clarification or specificity, it was not forthcoming.

1. Do you ever get tired of kicking a dead horse…?

What do you mean by that?

Stan…

In an effort to answer your request for clarification and specificity…this thread typifies what I referenced in my earlier comment. We ran this subject into the ground in a previous thread, to the point of having the thread locked by a moderator. Yet here you attempt to revive a parallel thread, on a subject that most participants would concede was dead and buried.

I would say this thread qualifies as "kicking a dead horse."

Is that clear and specific enough?

WOW! I think I will stay away from this one.
Don't worry about it. You just walked into a thread that has some history. That's why I referred you to the other thread. DocGKR gave us some solid information about how a 338 MG would be used.

It's pretty specific, Kerry. However, your post is a bit perplexing. This thread is a simple request for information. You did tell me, "If you have a genuine question...great. Ask away." ( http://68forums.com/forums/showpost.php?p=65611&postcount=166 )

I'm sorry Stan. I should have been more specific, seeing how you have been so perplexed lately. I should have made an invitation to ask a genuine question on a NEW subject. Not a question that only served to direct ones lower right appendage toward the afore mentioned comatose Shetland pony.

It was NOT an invitation to re-open an old thread that had been locked.

Well, excuuuuuse me for seeking additional information on an old subject. I just thought that it might make for an interesting magazine article, and wondered if Gary or anybody else knew who is developing a .338 machine gun. If I'd known you would take mortal offense at the question, I would've refrained from asking.
