Seems over the years I've accumulated a box of various 1911 grips that 'weren't quite right'. G-10's are cool and practical but I never warmed up to them. A classic 1911 should be shod with wood IMHO. So I ran across these guys "WoodCaliber"..... Custom Build 1911 Grips They have the option of choosing various wood types, inlays, checkering styles and finish. Per attached I opted for Macassar Ebony mag-wells with the traditional double diamond checkering pattern. Turn around time was about two weeks, and cost just shy of a hundred bucks. Not cheap, but I'm pleased beyond expectation, judge for yourself.....

Thats why I just make my own, trying all those grips gets pricey. I can checker but not that nice, and my tools need some upgrading, but I am able to do it.

Those you bought are super nice, and just classic 1911 grips and they look perfect in your pistol.
