So I'm about to put together my first loads with SSTs and 10x and was wondering what you guys are using as far as charge weight. What accuracy and velocities are you seeing? I'm shooting a 16in ARP barrel. Any advice would be welcomed.

10x is perfectly suitable for 120SSTs. I only get about 20fps more speed with 2200 in my 18" ARP and accuracy is about the same with a slight edge to 10x in this bbl. One thing I will note as well is my MV is dead on with 10x from cool Feb temps to near 100deg July temps.

Thanks for the point out. I'm starting to think that 10x might not be my answer with the 120s. Might try to find some 2200. Wish I'd gotten an 18" tube too.
CFE223 might also be worth a try.

I found CFE to be temperature sensitive and, unless you load longer than mag length COALs, you likely won't be able to get enough powder in the case to better R10x and AA2200.

That's encouraging. I'm going to shoot some factory SSTs over my chrono and then press ahead. We'll see how it goes. Thanks.

I been using 26.5gr 10x with 120 sst in FC brass. It shoots good.
27 shot better but beat my brass up too bad.
