Here’s my buck that I took with my bow this year. Unfortunately I didn’t take him with my 6.8 as the area that I live and hunt is bow only. I probably got more pics of him than any others that I’ve killed in this spot. Patience was my virtue this year as many times he would come out when the wind wasn’t in my favor. Normally I would wait until I had a marginal wind, but even in the past it would usually end up in disappointment. This year I waited over 3 weeks for the perfect wind. I didn’t want to take any chances of educating him of my location in my ground blind. It finally paid off as he came out of the thickets trailing a doe and passed broadside at 10 yards. He’s not my biggest, but definitely worthy of earning a spot on my wall. He grossed just over 151”. This past year has been very rough for me, and I’m just so grateful that I was able to make some adjustments and I can still dowhat I love!

Congratulations, great buck with a bow or gun! Cool rack, I especially like the wicked curl of the mains.

You folks that hunt with sticks amaze me, that's WAY more patience than I've ever had! Just tell me that you didn't paint your face and go all "fainty" after you shot it.
That's a great deer whether with a bow or a gun, the bow just takes 3 weeks of waiting. Kidding, kind of. That's patience! Well done!
No face painting for me. Patience comes with age I guess, and this was the most patient that I’ve been trying to harvest one. I had a giant 160+ hanging around a few years ago. I tried my hardest to kill him, but it wasn’t meant to be. It seemed that he was always a step ahead of me and knew when not to come out. He ended up dying the following spring, so I never got another chance to try to harvest him. But I learned a lot from that pursuit, and being patient enough not to educate the animal being pursued is huge when hunting with a bow.
