Anyone have any velocity/accuracy numbers with

Nosler 115 gr. Custom Comp
AA2200

27.4
27.7
28.0
28.3

I'll be test firing in 18" ARP, but will also use in my new 16" ARP Scout.

Will be a few weeks before I can shoot/chrony my loads and was wondering. Initial velocity of 2450 @ 28.0 compliments of Woodstock.

Thanks!

For plinking I settled on 27 grains of AA2200 using Fed brass, cci450 primers 115 Noslers CC. They gave the best grouping trying from 26.5 to 28.4. In the end, I was glad it was towards the lower end. Saves brass and guns run smooth with out abuse. Only difference is that RRA upper likes them at 2.280 and Stag H7 prefers 2.240. Both group under 1 inch 5 shot groups. Velocity unknown.

18" ARP, Hornady brass, CCI450, 2.295" (wasn't keeping track of temperature back then)

115gr Nosler Match - 2570 fps (28.0gr AA2200)

velocity reference only, not an accuracy node.

28.0 grains of AA2200

My best load for this 115 grain Nosler CC bullet is by far the 28.0 grain load of AA2200. C.O.A.L. of 2.290 using SSA brass and Remington 7 1/2 primers. It shoots very well out of both my 16 and 18 inch rifles. Right at 1/2 inch at 100 yards. I have some chrono data but it's at home. I'll update this comment this evening with that data. Accurate Arms load data reflects the 28.0 grain load as their top load. It's right around 58,000FPS using the Sierra bullets at the same weight. Not too hot, just right.

rvrrat: I did some extensive testing with the Nosler and Sierra 115 grainers. Barrel is WOA 4-groove, 16" long. Expect about 50 fps more from your 18" barrel. Powder was A2200, primers CCI 450 or Rem 7-1/2, OAL 2.290". Here is what I got with the Noslers, not a ladder, shot at different times. No swipes with any of these in my rifle.

28.0 gr, mean 2463 fps, SD 13.3 fps
28.2 gr, mean 2489, SD 21.8
28.6 gr, mean 2521, SD 22.7
28.8 gr, mean 2525, SD 16.1

Accuracy was OK but not as good as with my pet load with 110 grain Prohunters. - CW

How hot does your barrel get @ 58,000FPS? :a15:

I have no idea

I don't measure the temperature of my barrels. The velocity of my 115 Nosler CC load out of my ARP 18 inch barreled rifle is 2545FPS. My statement of 58,000 FPS was meant to be Foot Pounds per Square Inch (FP). A typographical error.

Thanks Guys!

Good info Chasw, thanks!

Xman and Daniel differ a bit. I'm hoping for 2550 or up.

With High School football (son playing) in full swing, not sure when I can get to the ranch to test mine. I'll post when I get results for sure.

Thanks again to everyone!

Obviously not AA2200 data but if you are looking for a little more speed recently I did a ladder with AR-COMP and 115HPBT. The group's started tightening up with the top two loads and still haven't found max. The average for a five shot string was 2662fps out of an ARP 20" Barrel. It has a lot of port pressure though so an adjustable gas block would be recommended.

Appreciate the info. Both my ARPs have fixed gas blocks and I'm invested in AA2200. But THANK YOU. I like those velocity numbers!

Finally got to shoot these ladders. 28.3 was the most accurate at subMOA. No pressure signs in my gun.

27.4 - 2517 fps

27.7 - 2538 fps

28.0 - 2589 fps

28.3 - 2600 fps

NOTE - This load data was safe in my rifle. You should work up loads properly, watching for signs of pressure.
