7/7/08 News from Cardinal Armory (formerly Ko-Tonics) Exclusive YHM Mid-Length Smooth Rail! This is an announcement of a product made exclusively for Cardinal Armory by Yankee Hill Machine. We saw the YHM 5005 Smooth Rifle Forend at the 2008 SHOT show, liked it, and asked whether they would build a mid-length version. They said yes, as long as we committed to buy them all.
Here`s a 16" lightweight with the mid-length smooth forend:
Features: - true mid-length (9"), not "Specter"-length
- comfortable 2" wide at the grip area
- anti-rotation screws
- 2.5" forward rails on sides and bottom, full-length rail on top
- weighs 15 ounces
- 20 cooling slots
- uses YHM end-cap
- holes threaded for sling swivel studs on each rail
These forends will only be available with our 6.8mm SPC uppers.
I asked Yankee Hill if they would make it a standard product. They said no. I think that`s nuts.
If you would like to be able to buy these forends for your own build, call Yankee Hill and ask them to make them. If YHM sees demand, they will build them.
