That works out to $17.40 per box plus shippng if you don't live in WA. Really a good price and the can is worth something in how it is marked. Or $87 a hundred and empty brass is $42 a hundred so for about $2 a box SSA has loaded Tactical loads with SMKs for you.

I just put windows into my house so I am tapped out for the next two or three years as a minimum but a very good buy.

I hope this is is the result of the .mil needing less ammo and not a decision to get rid of it all together.

That might be a forlorn hope, if it is truly military surplus. If the military bought it, took it into the inventory, but later sold it back to SSA, it may well be because there is no longer a .mil requirement for the caliber.

OTOH, calling it "military surplus" might be just advertising -- a marketing ploy to sell off an overrun of ammunition manufactured in expectation of .mil contracts that never materialized.

How we got it is too convoluted to explain so everyone put your crystal balls down and do not read anything into it. Just know this we can not re-sell it as Military new, it's not of current years production (within the last 12 months) so if you can shoot Tac loads in 115 Sierra take advantage of it.

In addition we did not add a metal box and wirebound crate that increases our cost just to but it on sale when we our out of stock of the 115 grain OTM's and can sell everyone we have or had at the regular price.

That's too bad, Art. I'm sure it'd be an interesting story.

Yeah, that thought occurred to me. Forgive me if I surmised incorrectly. It was because the nomenclature and lettering style on the cans are different in almost every respect from standard military labeling that made me think it might be a marketing tactic.
